Type Design
A typeface inspired by movement, rhythm, and focus.
Marathon Zen follows a translation contrast typeface with a strong personality. It was drawn inspired by the Japanese running monks. The body under strain while the mind remains calm. That paradox, energy and stillness at the same time, became the foundation for the letterforms. Soft circular bowls are capped with abrupt terminals, as if the brush was sliced mid-stroke. Up close, the details feel dangerous, almost blade-like. At text size, they dissolve and leave a quiet and breathable texture suitable for continuous reading. Marathon Zen is intended for long-form editorial space: magazines, books and digital reading environments.
